School Council
Here at Southview we strive to provide the very best for our students and value their views and opinions. We have a school council meeting held once every half term for the class representatives to discuss school issues. This is a wonderful opportunity to promote our core values; Responsibility, Respect, Compassion and Learning, allowing each member to contribute in making decisions and empowering them to have their say.
Students are elected within their classes and have the responsibility to represent the views of their peers in order to continually improve our school.
We encourage everyone in a way that suits them, to have the opportunity to share their ideas and take part in the action. Representatives may suggest ways to raise money, help to organise events, as well as bring wish lists of new equipment for classers and ideas of how their learning experiences could be broadened within their individual classes and across the school as a whole.
Additional responsibilities for some of the older students include showing visitors around the school and talking with our Academy advisors.
Minutes of each meeting are taken and shared with classes through their representative.
